39% of Facebook Users Have Donated to Haiti; 13% via SMS
Facebook and The Nielsen Company jointly conducted a survey, fielded January 20 and 21 amongst 50,641 Facebook users ages 13 and older in the U.S., U.K. and Australia, and found that 39% of Facebook users in the U.S., U.K. and Australia have already donated money or goods to the relief efforts following the January 12 earthquake in Haiti – 13% through SMS text-messaging. An additional 21% of users have not yet given to the cause, but plan to do so. This means that, overall, 60% of Facebook users in these markets have donated or plan to donate goods or money. …more…
